In September of 2011, Bottar Leone, PLLC was listed in the second annual edition of U.S. News and World Report Best Lawyers Best Law Firms for plaintiffs personal injury litigation in Syracuse. According to U.S. News, nearly 10,000 law firms were ranked following review of surveys concerning firm reputation, expertise, responsiveness, civility, and whether the firm is a worthy competitor.

Candidates are considered for membership in The National Trial Lawyers based on superior qualifications, leadership, reputation, influence, stature, and profile in the trial lawyer community. Membership is by invitation only, and is limited to 100 lawyers from each state.
For more than one decade, Anthony S. Bottar has been selected by his peers as one of The Best Lawyers In America®. Best Lawyers is the nation’s oldest and most respected legal referral guide published by specialty and geographic region. Each year, Best Lawyers compiles a list of outstanding attorneys based upon peer review evaluations. The current, 16th (2010) edition of Best Lawyers was based upon more than 2.8 million detailed evaluations.

Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Anthony S. Bottar has been listed yearly as a plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice Super Lawyer® since 2007, the inception of the Upstate New York edition of the publication, and is a repeat member of the “blue ribbon” panel charged with evaluating nominees. Edward S. Leone was first named a Super Lawyer® in 2010 and, in 2011, was named to the Upstate New York “Top 50” lawyers list. Super Lawyers® recognizes attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Anthony S. Bottar was awarded the status of Lawdragon “National Finalist” for the 2010 guide to the Leading Lawyers in America. Approximately 3,000 lawyers are awarded the status of National Finalist (the “Lawdragon 3000”) out of 1.1 million U.S. lawyers. The honor follows selection from 25,000 nominees identified through a three-month peer review, client evaluation and editorial process.
Anthony S. Bottar was honored as Best Lawyers® 2009 Syracuse Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year. The “Lawyer of the Year” award was given for the first time in 2009 to attorneys in five high-profile practice areas (personal injury litigation, banking law, bet-the-company litigation, corporate law, and real estate law) who have eared a high level of respect of lawyers in the community and exhibit a high level of ability, professionalism and integrity.
As four of “The Top Trial Lawyers In AmericaTM,” Anthony S. Bottar, Edward S. Leone, Michael A. Bottar and Aaron J. Ryder hold life memberships in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum®. The Forum is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum® is limited to attorneys who have million and multi-million dollar verdicts. Less than 1% of all attorneys are members.
Anthony S. Bottar and Edward S. Leone hold life memberships in the MULTI-Million Dollar Advocates Forum®, the elite arm of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership in the MULTI-Million Dollar Advocates Forum is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements (i.e., more than $2,000,000.00).
Several of the Bottar Leone, PLLC, attorneys have been Martindale Hubbell peer review rated. Peer review ratings are an indicator legal ability and ethical standards. There are two components to a rating: ethical standards and legal ability. A lawyer must receive a “V” for ethics in order to be eligible for ability review. Upon receipt of a “‘V,” a lawyers ability is graded “A,” “B,” or “C.” An AV® rating signifies the highest level of professional excellence for a lawyer admitted to the bar more than 10 years. A BV® rating signifies an excellent rating. It is the highest rating for an attorney admitted 5-9 years. A CV® rating signifies above-average ability and unquestionable ethics. It is the highest rating for an attorney admitted 3-4 years.
In 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, Anthony S. Bottar was recognized by New York Magazine as one of the New York Area’s top plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice lawyers.
For nearly one decade, Bottar Leone, PLLC, has been honored yearly by inclusion in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers®, which is now in its 91st edition. Only the most distinguished law practices appear in the Bar Register – namely, only those that have achieved the top AV® rating from Martindale Hubbell. An AV® rating signifies a very high to preeminent level of legal ability and very high ethical standards. Only 5% of law firms around the county are included.
